Welcome to Celestial Cinema

Hi there! Today we have an exciting announcement to make. It is a big change that has been in the works for months.

But before we get into that, I would like to thank everyone who has watched our video editing tutorials and subscribed to our YouTube channel. The numbers are much higher than we ever anticipated. As of this writing, nearly 40,000 views! I am so glad you have found our free video editing tutorials helpful. Thank you very much for your positive comments and support.

Film Director and Screenwriter

Most of you know me from the aforementioned video editing tutorials. What you might not know is while editing is certainly a strong passion of mine, I am also a film director and screenwriter.

My most recent short film was fortunate enough to be awarded 1st place in its category at the International New York Film Festival. That project is currently being adapted into my third feature-length screenplay, which I also intend to direct.

In that context, I have spent a lot of time thinking about our YouTube channel and website. It has become clear to me that both of these platforms can be so much more.

Discover Your Inner Filmmaker

I believe we all have incredible talents within ourselves. Sometimes those talents are just below the surface and prove easy to spot. In other cases, those talents may need a bit more encouragement before they can rise up and easily be seen by everyone.

The director inside of me wants to share with you a broader range of filmmaking tutorials, advice, and even a bit of inspiration. It is our goal to help you discover, develop, and refine the incredible filmmaking talents that already exist within yourself.

Post-production is an important aspect of becoming a great filmmaker – and we will continue to produce those types of high-quality tutorials that you have come to expect. But as the saying goes, it is not wise to rely on fixing everything in post.

Beyond Post

A good film or video project starts with an engaging concept backed up by a solid plan. An important tool for most filmmakers constructing that solid plan is a script or screenplay. The process of writing a script or screenplay is known as a project’s development phase – where I spend a large portion of my time.

Because so much of my time is spent outside post-production, I see real value in expanding the scope of this blog and its associated YouTube channel. Some topics I would like to share with fellow filmmakers and screenwriters include:

  • Screenwriting tutorials.
  • Business considerations when making a film.
  • Strategies for assembling a great cast and crew.
  • Film festival advice.
  • Free and low-cost methods to create promotional websites for your films.
  • A documentary series that will give you a first-hand look into the process of making my next film.

The best part is the more I think about these possibilities, the more excited I become to share them with you!
